Album Review
No Skills Just Talent EP Featuring. Teflon Johnny
Here we have Teflon Johnny hailing from A.C., NJ.. Bringing a 12 track EP. Let's begin the intro starts with a few lines from it sounds like Casino. 1st track we have "One Verse" a quick verse to let us know whats in store for the album. Now I couldn't really get into this track with the heavy effects of the vocals I could barely make out the verse. Next we have "No Mercy Recall" now the production on this track is what stood out first. The melody flowing thru the hook sounds angelic and brings a soothing feel to the track. I think honestly Tef needs to work on the flow of songs or flow there for period. "Ain't No Facade Demo" Feat. Rick from Twine now on this track Tef tries to step up the flow and the lyricism but still unfortunately falls short. I don't hear the feature unless it was the kid repeating the hook with him,other than that. Sounds pretty rushed and with lines like (Fuck your boys; fuck your city/ fuck your rhymes bitch u aint really/ I'll throw you in the Atlantic diced in the city/if u gotta problem call the committee.) on "Growl And Bark" isn't gonna get you far this game. Now I usually would encourage an individual(s) on following their dream and reaching for their goals. But in this case I have to refuse that offer and state that he shouldn't look at doing this as an occupation. Unless we have some huge market switch or hell freezes over first, there is no way i would suggest anyone to cop this album. Out of 5 which is the top for our rating system, i would have to rate this a 1.5.. I gave it an extra 5 tenths for the production. My suggestion to Tef is to look at work behind the scenes maybe production or engineering.. Something away from the microphone, And if you do plan on keeping up with this as more than a hobby I would say start with the basics (Flow, Rhythm,Vocabulary,Etc.) none of of have been obtained by the artist at hand.. Thus the album name does hold some weight but No Skills Nor Talent should've been the title..Maybe in the future things will be brighter but as for now I have to use this Ep as a coaster..
