High Fashion

High Fashion, one of many of Jacques Fred Petrus' R&B and Funk acts of the early 1980s, consisted of former Motown vocalist Erick McClinton, and then-newcomers Melisa Morgan and Alyson Williams, and despite their short-lived act, they contributed some of the finest of the period. With their debut album featuring compositions from Kashif (Hold On, Next to You), Glenn Ballard, Mauro Malavasi, and Fonzie Thornton, it is one of the most auspicious releases from Mr. Petrus. 1983 saw the release of "Make Up Your Mind", just as ambitious, but lacking the freshness of their debut. While Erick and Alyson have chosen to remain out of the spotlight, Melisa has seen a rather successful standing on the R&B/Soul circuit throughout the '80s and '90s. High Fashion's timeless music lets us relive the glory days of R&B.
