The Zorath Megafield Project

About Me

The Zorath Megafield Project is the solo musical project of myself, Josh Mason. At my old, quirky, pedantic STEINER school one of the things the students do in their final year (7th form) is a massive project which is to last the entire year. The project is on a topic of the students choice - and the possibilities really are immense. People have done all sorts of things from learning how to hang-glide, hosting their own art exhibition, making their own youth dance production and so on. For mine, as you might have already guessed, I decided to go about making my own short CD/album in which I would have to play/compose/mix all the instrumental parts on my own. So that's essentially what this music is - 100% pure, unadulterated Josh Mason.

I started writing the tunes at the beginning of 2007 and on thursday 13th of September 07 the SP album 'An Excerpt Of Lost Misinterpretations' was released. It contains 7 tracks, all of which differ from one another, in some sense, in musical style. All the artwork for this album was also done by myself. The photography was taken by watashi no tomodachi Bogarn Jess Gibbs and we both took turns at editting the crap out of it.

If anyone out there is interested in getting their hands on a copy of this majestic, ground-breaking, iconoclastic album, just drop me a line sometime (only $12 omfg wat a deal rofl). My personal myspace is:

www.myspace.com/dr_gero (i think).

-That has more personal info about me if any of yas are interested.

As of 2008 The Zorath Megafield Project has gone from a solo project to a 5-piece band. We will performing gigs as soon as we feel comfortable and ready, and will be performing a couple of tracks off 'An Excerpt of Lost Misinterpretations' as well a lot of diverse new material. All of which is still entirely composed by myself. With any luck we hope to be getting ourselves out there and known by mid April or something. Possibly sooner if things fall into place like that.

...Not really much else to say about The Zorath Megafield Project. Other than: Zorath Megafield is an absurd band nickname my musical friend and I formulated for me a long time ago. It's so stupid that it stuck. Funny how things can do that.

Thanks for readin, peace out guys.
