The Gingerbread Man

About Me

The Gingerbread man started playing guitar back in 2001, having heard a wide variety of music around him from a young age he progressed quickly, learning various styles.
Failing highschool music for most of his time there, he always felt out of step with everyone else. The music of the time was bass heavy R'n'B or new school Pop Punk, during this phase he was listening to jazz, metal, ska, old bass heavy jazz, progressive, different virtuoso players and most importantly the blues. Needless to say he had a hard time finding musicians to collaborate with.
He kept sane by playing with two of his long time friends who were a drummer and guitarist respectively, however the two were busy and so it was only ever on rare occasion that they did play together.
Upon finishing school, The Gingerbread man spent most of his time working hard and playing harder however he never fell into the heavy drinking and drug use of todays youth culture and soon became reclusive. Spending all of his free time working on music. Many different band offerings came and went. He played in rock bands, metal bands, punk bands and long term in an Australiana bush band. None of these groups worked out and for a very long period his music became second to just getting on with life.
So he worked and worked, his guitars gathered dust and sat unplayed. Then one day, fed up with working hard and earning little in return, he up and quit his job and took to the streets pushing his own brand of smooth aussie blues.
He currently lives with his long term girlfriend and is a successfull if poor busker.PROFILE Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
