DJ CLASH BIOGRAPHY:Born Darren Jakasal aka DJ Clash out of Long Island City. In Queensbridge was one of the projects the produced a great amount of talent in Hip Hop. Growing up listening to 92.3 fm WKTU with Shep Pettibone and the Latin Rascals, 107.5 WBLS's own Mr. Magic and Marley Marl, inspired DJ Clash to become connected with the early Hip Hop and R & B stlye of music.The summer of 1984 brought DJ Clash to a place called the " River Parl " a site where people would gather, playing baseball, dancing to the Disco, R & B and Hip Hop craze. There were The Orr Brothers, The Disco Twins, DJ Hot Day, DJ L.E.S, Grandmaster Flash and Marley Marl, just to name a few, are the true Hip Hop pioneers of Hip Hop. Later that month I met with " Havoc's " father Dj Smurth who taught me how to spin on non- pitch JVC turntables.In 1986 - 1989 DJ Clash worked as a intern w/ DJ Marley Marl on WBLS, after, the internship Dj Clash worked beside DJ Marley Marl on a show called " In The Mix " which was 1 for three years straight. Following that year I spun at over 25 nightclubs including; The Tunnel, The Undergrond, Sound Factory, and the Milk Way to name a few.In 1989 - 1992 I became an assistant recording engineer . remixer / editor at Marley Marl's House Of Hitz Studio. This is where DJ CLASH recorded and mixed predominantly Hip Hop and R & B with such artist ( s ) LL Cool J, Domingo, Pete Rock, Chubb RocK, King Tee, Heavy D and the Boys, Slick Rick, Orange " Juice " Jones, Porita Kirland, Monie Love, TLC, Bell Biv Devoe, 3rd Bass, and The Juice Crew. Having 9 Platinum and 6 Gold Records.In 1993 - 1998 Produced Black Butterfly, Little Hatian, Brother's Like Outlaw, and Mr Me. I went to owning so much, and hitting ground so fast. I was a Drug User, Fighter, Homeless for 9 years, In trouble with the " Mafia ", I was addicted to Porn, and having sex with over 67 women. God was looking out for me and I didn't even know it.In 1999- DJ CLASH embarked to Brighton, England. On Surf 107.2 fm which is now Juice 107.2 fm with Mick Fuller, and Mike Panteli, DJ CLASH spun the latest in Hip Hop and Speed Garage. For the next two years, DJ CLASH spun at the local clubs like; The Beach, J R's , The Zapp, and The Alantis. Coming back was hard.In 2000 Making a mark ( I was Saved by Jesus ) noted for keeping it real. After each and everyshow I state Put God first in everything you do, and everything you dream about will become real according to he's perfect plan. Now, working on a Christian T-Shirt Company and Book to be released in 09 summer time. God is more than great.
