The Life of a performer is no easy task, but, if done with heart, it can be extremely rewarding. Such has been the experience of our own New York Diva and Gender Illusionist, LaRitza DuMont. Laritza Dumont started her career when she was 21 years old. Since then it has not been easy for her. Like any other upcoming performer, she had to face many challenges to become the performer she is today. Being one of the first Latin Female Impersonators in New York, Miss Dumont has opened the door for many aspiring performers to follow in her footsteps. While many Latina performers “Americanized” their shows, Laritza strongly believed that individuality is what makes a good show. Therefore, she clung to her Latin roots and performed music from her own culture. This individuality has set Miss Dumont from many performers and this is why today she is considered a Diva. “To Wong Foo”, was Laritza Dumont’s break through in show business. After “Too Wong Foo”, she also made appearances in HBO’s series “Sex in the City” as Madonna’s look-A-like, “The Sopranos”, “NY Undercover”, along with Many Talk shows, and TV comedy shows. Laritza also made some appearances on several magazine covers. Recently, Laritza hosts in many renowned clubs throughout the city of New York. She also works as a D.J and performs regularly. This Puerto Rican Diva is a choreographer, dancer, make-up artist and actor. Laritza claims the secret to her high energy and ongoing stamina is pasta and Goya… where isn’t she nowadays?
