• AS Producer and musician, film composer and arranger, theAlchemist Bebo Baldan has already gained a place of honor for himself on the European music scene.

He partecipate to the project "Asian Garden", with: TRANSGLOBAL UNDERGROUND, NITIN SAWHNEY, TRILOK GURTU, ASIAN DUB FOUND., SINEAD O' CONNOR , and highlight at the "1 Maggio" festival in Rome in 2003, with an audience of over 700.000 people.
Very early he gained a main role in the world music scene as a promising composer, arranger and session man. His works have been released, from various european labels, in the same albums with personalities such as Jon Hassel, Steven Brown, Steve Reich, Michael Nyman, Wim Mertens, David Torn, Ruichy Sakamoto, Frank Zappa (see DISCOGRAPHY ). He received international recognitions for his original use of electronic instrumentation melted with world, jazz, classical and pop music.

Bachir Charaf nasce in un villaggio nel sud del Marocco tra le popolazioni berbere. Fin da piccolo canta la musica che la cultura popolare del deserto gli ha trasmesso, poi, dopo viaggi lunghi anni si avvicina alle culture più disparate imparando a suonare anche le percussioni: impara a conoscere la musica tradizionale mediorientale e araba in particolare, il ray algerino e si avvicina all'india e alle melodie "kawale" del Pakistan. Ora vive tra la capitale marocchina, Rabat, e Venezia dove ha conosciuto il complesso di musica etnica sperimentale tantratribe e ha avuto l'occasione di collaborare con artisti spagnoli, tedeschi, libanesi ed egiziani.
Tra tanti gusti e forti influenze Bachir "la voce del deserto" ha sempre mantenuto quel timbro personale e una voce così raffinata e intensa che dicono riesca a trasportare una persona in quei luoghi così lontani e sconosciuti a noi.
