Biography of Ricky Tef: A Star Is Born
Subbeg Singh a.k.a. Ricky Tef was born on August 6, 1989 in a small town in the country of India. At the age of 3 Ricky and his family migrated to New York City. A year later they moved to Eason, Pennsylvania. There they stayed for 2 years. Then, once again, he and his family moved to Waukegan, IL because his father had found a job opportunity. Growing up was hard moving from state to state, so he and family decided to make Waukegan their home.
Even though Ricky’s childhood wasn’t like every kid dreams it to be, he still had the most important he thing he valued the most, family. At the age of 14 Ricky started writing lyrics to industrial beats, but he wasn’t satisfied. Ricky wanted his own special sound. One of his friends later informed him of a computer program that lets the user create their own sound. Ricky had no idea at that moment and time that the program he downloaded would forever change his life.
Starting out Ricky’s instrumentals weren’t categorized into industry standards but over time he developed a style and sound that was quoted “irresistible by any human ear.” Ricky consistently continued to produce instrumentals and was quickly creating a buzz to the hip-hop community in the area. He later at 15 found an internship job at a local studio and quickly learned how to engineer sound. At the age of 16, Ricky was widely known as “the go to guy for that industry sound.”
When his parents found another job opportunity, it was time for Ricky and his family to make another move, this time to Mississippi. Mississippi opened many doors for Ricky. He produced for some of the most talented rappers and singers he had ever been exposed to. He also decided to work on his solo album. He created a buzz like no other. He made sure that everybody knew him or at least heard of him.
Today Ricky is 19 years old and ready to make history, and at his rate, he’s going to be the biggest star on the face of the earth.
If the rap game is missing something, its people like Ricky Tef. People with true musical talent. So to the people thinking getting into the music industry is simple and just want to make a quick buck, you're in the wrong business.
