Started playing blues at 15 years old, but didn't pick up the harmonica until almost 21. My first deep dive into blues was with Stevie Ray Vaughn, but my first harmonica lesson was from Delbert McClinton's music. My cousin and I would go to the play on the streets of Keokuk Iowa 2 blocks from the Missisppi River, and make a quick $80 in 2-3hours. Many of the towns that we went to, the police welcomed us for doing something positive. Women would throw condoms in dollar bills with there name and number written in the inside, and that was always welcoming. We were invited to play at a Tattoo Festival, and played on the same stage as Kenny Wayne Sheppard. Now I'm in Myrtle Beach, and it costs $17 a day for a business license to play on the street, which isn't too much. I'm thinking of moving to California. Much more my style.
