Hi, my name is Ricky and I graduated from Norwich High School back in June. I am taking a year or two off before starting college because I need to get on my feet and focus. I am moving to New Jersey to live with my cousins for some time until I am ready to face the BIG, BAD CITY for myself. I have been through a lot in just the past 4- 4 1/2 years. It's been a long, rough road for me to follow, but somehow I never veered on the wrong path. I have hit a few bumps in the road or needed to take a few detours, but everything happens for a reason. I am a dancer, dancing is my life. I found my passion when I was in 6th grade from my grandma's strong pursuit to make me passionate about something. There began the start of the REAL me. Dance helped me find myself and also made it easier to let go and be who I really am- not to mention, GREAT EXERCISE! I could always express to people how I was feeling by how I danced each day. Sometimes it varied on the hour, day or week, sometimes even by each minute. I am someone with substance and a great personality, NOTHING or NO ONE can ever take that away from me; or for that matter, my confidence.
There are 5 people that I would like to acknowledge as the most influential people in my life:
First, there's my grandmother - she always made sure, along with my grandfather, that we had everything that I ever needed. Second- my mother- We've been through some rough times and when I say rough, I mean HORRIBLY ROUGH. She always seemed to treat me harder than the rest of my sibblings because I am the youngest and any mistakes she made before she tried to change with me. Some of the time influential isn't a good thing though. She's also taught me many things to not do to others and treat others the way she has come to treat her kids. Her marriage means more to her than anything and I guess I will have to live with that because she is my mother.
Third- my sister- she is one of the MOST generous people that I know. She is also one of the most nitpicky and bitchy people that I have ever met, I say that with humor in my mind. She is kind and caring, but also wants to make sure that I grow to be a good guy. She has supported me more than most sisters would ever support a little brother. She has helped me out emotionally and financially throughout the years. She is one of a kind.
Fourth- Amber Perkins- She has been there to watch me dance since I was a beginner. Along with her family, she never gave up on me or let me quit on my dreams or something that she knew was taking me somewhere no matter what I was going through. She has treated me like a son, a brother, a bestfriend, and she has been a mentor. She is my Confirmation sponsor and the one the pushed the door at a strong force to let me walk through to become the dancer I am now. The raw talent is mine, but the person to bring it out of me was her. SHe still teaches me so much about life and dance and love and family each day.
Finally- ADRIANO JASON SMIROLDO- before I met him, I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted in life. We met and I realized that he is the most beautiful guy I have ever met or will ever meet. He means the world to me as I do to him. He has pushed me to do great things with my dancing because he knows that I have the talent and gets frustrated when I don't strive for my true potential. He is the love of my life and the angel to guide me. I have never met such an outgoing guy as he is toward me. I don't know what I would do without him. He's crazy smart and has a good judge of character. There's no one I would rather call mine.
I would also like to shout out to all of my friends that have had a major impact on me throughout the years, but especially the past 6 months. I love you all and that will never change.
I enjoy eating healthy and trying new foods. I love Jamba Juice or any fresh fruit smoothies. I am going to say one word, "MANGOS!!!" I am a huge fan of them. I also love the NAKED BRAND JUICES and the BOLTHOUSE JUICES... SO GOOD. I have a weakness for pizza and definitely for a good medium-rare cheeseburger. I can tell you that I LOVE STEAKS! And as any traditional Lebanese decendant... LAMB MEAT!
I love going to Broadway shows, and just walking around to pass the time. Museums and concerts and traveling are also very important to me. What's life without a little culture? One day I would like to say that I've been to at least 30 foreign countries, not including Mexico or Canada.
I'm not going to lie, I like being the center of attention, but I don't demand it. I am someone that, on occasions, I do need a good amount though.
If you want to know anymore, then just ask!
