BIOGRAPHY

Born in Washington DC, Philip Jaymes Flowers was destined for show business.
The son of well-known entertainer Phil Flowers, he followed in his father’s footsteps starting in junior high school talent shows, then joining Madam Clara McCormick’s gospel choir as one of the local vocalists. After young Philip won numerous talent shows, Phil Sr. saw the potential and decided to put him to work.
While performing his craft and growing as a premier entertainer, Flowers formed the group Tough Act to Follow. Having one of the hottest Top 40 show bands on the East coast, he began performing regularly in clubs and landed at Atlantic City’s Trump Plaza for almost 22 weeks a year, while also traveling around the world the rest of the year.
Flowers spent the next few years as the lead singer for the world-renowned Gene Donati Orchestra, performing at the White House, aboard the Presidential Yacht and at many inaugural balls and various political and high society functions. These performances covered a wide range of styles, including R&B, classical, pop, big band and opera. Flowers has evolved into one of the most talented, entertaining and sought after performers in recent history.
Following the September 11th tradedy, Flowers was asked to write a song dedicated to the victims of the attack, performing his stirring tribute “Standing Tall” in New York City’s Central Park. More recently, Flowers starred in the Las Vegas Hurricane Katrina Relief Concert, which featured the national debut of the song he wrote for the event, “Help Is on the Way”.
The National Professionals Network annually books Phil Flowers as their Royal Caribbean Cruise headliner. Hundreds of those who annually participate with NPN simply insist that the ship can’t sail until Flowers is on board. In August 2005, he toured the Mediterranean with NPN as the featured performer with a special tribute to the recently departed singing sensation Luther Vandross. Audiences in Spain, France and Italy were captivated by Flowers’ exceptional renditions of Luther’s greatest hits. Joining him on this tour were singing legends Freda Payne and Mary Wilson of the Supremes. Flowers’ duets with these two ladies of Motown left standing room-only crowds screaming for more.
Now living in Las Vegas, Phil has shared the stage with countless first-rate performers, including Aretha Franklin, Céline Dion, Patti Labelle, Oleta Adams, Jeffery Osborne, The Beach Boys, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Platters, The Drifters, The Coasters, Clint Holmes, The Whispers, Billy Paul, Tom Jones and many more.
You name it, Phil Flowers does it. Whether it’s singing, acting or dancing, don’t be surprised to see “Mega Star” after his name. Phil’s recent move to Las Vegas will surely propel him into the spotlight of this City of Entertainment.
