Ebony Burks is a talented up and coming singer/songwriter and actress hailing from the creative oasis and home of "Funk" Dayton, Ohio. She can be viewed as "a hybrid lyricist" meaning her song lyrics are a crossbreed from various music genres and eras. From an early age Burks had the innate ability to captivate audiences whether she was singing in church or school plays. After many rejections and political stunts from more well-known songwriters ,she secured her 1st major release with RnB songstrees Blu Cantrell. The sultry "UNHAPPY" received rave reviews and earned that album a Grammy nod.Critics almost shamed Arista for not releasing it as a single.
