I've been lucky enough to make music for a lot of different feature films, television shows, video games, and soundtracks. Here's a few of the ones I enjoyed working on the most:

The San Francisco East Bay music scene is famous throughout the world. You can find a punk club on one side of the street and kids in a warehouse dancing all night on the other. Joey Kingpin spent his weekends hanging out with both crowds, getting along, and having a good time. This guitartronic combination = Joey Kingpin.
Joey Kingpin, AKA Steven Hoffer, began experimenting with guitars and drum machines and would display his skills for friends at Friday night house parties up in the quiet east bay hills overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.
"I used to pull out my drum machine and a two string Fender guitar and start doing live remixes of Green Day songs. The crowds used to go crazy and I would end up playing till the early morning. From there, I got inspired to start writing original songs."
Those early unmastered songs immediately started appearing on episodes of MTV shows like Road Rules and Undressed, and MTV home video releases like Inside Total Request Live and Tom Green Uncensored. All of this hype culminated with a high profile slot on the MTV Undressed Soundtrack. Soon after, Joey Kingpin went on to sign with New York based label Radikal Records, who released his debut album, A Beat Down In Hell Town.
Highlights from the A Beat Down In Hell Town era include Joey Kingpin music appearing in the Touchstone Pictures film Big Trouble and his song "Sweet Valley" used as the theme for the Mary-Kate and Ashley In Action! animated cartoon series.
