"Music has always influenced every aspect of my life. I grew up in Richmond, Virginia and spent my early years dancing and singing the Barney song for anyone who would listen. Even when I started my modeling career at two years old I had to have the music playing to strike a pose. My parents would take me to a variety of concerts and Broadway Shows everywhere including New York City. I associated music with life experiences and happy moments. I started taking piano lessons at my school in Richmond, found myself a member of the National Guild, and learned that music can be created in addition to being learned. Soon I began writing music and adding lyrics. I started recording in a Richmond Studio when I was 11. I was fascinated with the process and the artistry of making records. I recorded my first original songs after moving to Los Angeles when I was 13 after being discovered at a local dance studio. I was asked to meet a top A & R executive at Capitol Records and sing for him. Little did I know it would grow into a transforming musical adventure. I was elated that Infant Records picked up 2 of the songs. Suddenly, I saw myself on iTunes and was being followed by ABC Primetime Live and was asked to appear on Good Morning America. I still continue to train my voice and master my dance steps at various studios knowing a career is a journey of continual learning and growing. I have always worked on my acting skills in addition to my music. Currently I am the Angel Girl on NBC PASSIONS, appear on Disney's "Suite Life of Zack and Cody," have a Short Film in Festivals and am waiting for my second lead in a Major Motion Picture, Dreamkiller, to come out soon. Now, after 14 inspiring years of print jobs, professional theater, national commercials, music videos, network television shows, feature films and recording...I am totally ready to put out my own album which is just the beginning of an original autobiography. No one has had a life like mine. Yet everyone will be able to relate to something in it. I will not kid you; life has not been a Disney fairytale for me. Striving for success has met many setbacks and more rejection than I could ever have imagined when I started this endeavor. Keeping focused on my dream and the positive aspects of a rewarding entertainment career has inspired me to higher places. If it weren't for Almighty God, my family and the loyal group of professionals, friends and fans that have supported me through some of the past events...I would not be able to sing for you today. I wake up every morning with the words "THANK YOU" on my lips. I owe so much to so many. I also encourage you to follow that dream and be the best at what you do...whatever it is! Be yourself and true to your calling!" *~Diandra~* Diandra Newlin on Good Morning America
