AKH is a rap group that was formed in the state of Minnesota. The group Consists of four members; Jowel aka Complex, Cozy aka C O, Nema aka Sin and Fulton aka Fofo. The four members are originally from the country of Liberia, but are now residing in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The four met while in school, and became close friends from then on by spending most of their time together. Like most rappers they had to start from somewhere and for these four young men it was in a basement studio. Their dream to become musicians came equipped with a home computer, a microphone, a mixer, and a receiver. The group believed that in order to sound the way they wanted (industry ready) they needed to upgrade from a home studio to a professional studio, so they went out made some connections ad started renting a studio that came with the proper equipments and a booth. One of the ways the group promoted themselves was by performing at numerous amounts of shows. The group has released seven mix tapes and has preformed at over a dozen or more clubs (Visage, Karma,Soul City and a few others. Some of these shows were to open up for such artistes as David Banner, Cee-lo, Julez Santana of Dipset, Clipse and a few others. The group even did few shows in the community like juneteenth 2004 and the 3rd annual Hip Hop festival. The group have came a long way through their ups, and their downs, even their disagreements but they still managed to remain focused and fight towards accomplishing their dreams that were once set as their goal. AKH’s ultimate goal is to become the first Liberian hip hop group in the United States. They have plans on going back to Liberia to rebuild what is left of their country, after a massive civil war that claimed over 200,000 lives. With music being the anchor and the destruction of Liberia being the motive to remain focus and strong the group is ready not only for the main stream but the world as a whole this alone can be called a history in the making.Description
