About Me

Twenty one years of bass instrument studies have shaped me into a musician who understands what is fundamentally desired from a piece of music. From languid and beautiful to freaky and frantic, the sounds I coax from my instrument can be delightfully spellbinding or utterly maddening, depending on your point of view. As an improviser, some of my goals are to be able to explore the terrain of a piece of music with grace, candor and dignity, yet at all times be looking for places to stick objects in the spokes of the musical wheels. As a composer, I just prefer to make a lot of noise. As a sideman, I have found that a minimalist approach with a focus on creating a solid foundation always seems to sound best. Cheers folks!
