I'm first and foremost a devotee of Neem Karoli Baba (which is probably either amusing, confusing, or both to the people who heard me in years past express my doubts about the whole guru thing), but I also have great love for many other women and men of the Divine, particularly those showing in my top friends window. Bhagavan Das gave me my name, my first picture of Maharajji, and reintroduced me to Hindu devotional music at a powerfully synchronistic time in my life. I'm also indebted to him for excellent advice and guidance over the last few years. More recently, I have learned a great deal from Kalidas and the lineage and teachings of Shri Shankaracharya . There are many others I could thank for their guidance, as well.
I'd like to consider myself a spiritual person, but I definitely don't have any answers. I'm just another all-too-human person stumbling through life, trying to make sense of it. Ok, so maybe I think I do have one or two answers, but those answers are my answers, not necessarily anyone else's. I play guitar, bass, ektar, and also like to sing kirtan . In addition to leading kirtans, I have accompanied Sangita Devi on bass on occasion. I've done a good bit of traveling, including India twice (for a total of 5 months). I've been a vegan (although not a perfect one) for over 7 years. I just recently moved closer to town, into a new house, and the change has been a huge blessing. I used to say, "I'm really bad at keeping in touch with friends over long distances," but the truth is I'm bad at keeping touch with friends 10 minutes away, much less over long distances. If there's anything else you'd like to know, please don't hesitate to ask.
If you're looking at my profile thinking, "this guy is full of crap; he has no idea about about any of this spiritual stuff," just know that I might just agree with you. I have no business with a sadhu name like "Maadas" or performing Indian rituals and practices. I mean, I'm the son of a Presbyterian minister! Still, things have happened in my life that make me think my current position isn't just a coincidence or mistake, so I keep going, trying to figure out what my duty is and how to fulfill it. Until then, you're welcome to join me at my Saturday puja and homa.

You Are a Retrospective Soul
The most misunderstood of all the soul signs.
Sometimes you even have difficulty seeing yourself as who you are.
You are intense and desire perfection in every facet of your life.
You're best described as extremely idealistic, hardworking, and a survivor.Great moments of insight and sensitivity come to you easily.
But if you aren't careful, you'll ignore these moments and repeat past mistakes.
For you, it is difficult to seperate the past from the present.
You will suceed once you overcome the disappoinments in life.Souls you are most compatible with: Traveler Soul and Prophet Soul
What Kind of Soul Are You?
Your Life Path Number is 9
Your purpose in life is to make the world better
You are very socially conscious and a total idealist.
You think there are many things wrong with the world, and you want to fix them.
You have a big idea of how the world could be, and you'll sacrifice almost anything to work towards this dream.
In love, you can easily see the beauty in someone else. And you never cling too tightly.
You are capable of great love, but it's hard for you to focus your love on one person or relationship.
You have a lot of outward focus, and you tend to blame the world for your failures.
You are often disappointed by the realities of life - it's hard for you to accept the shortcomings of the world.
What Is Your Life Path Number?
Of course, I'm having a hard time accepting the shortcomings of that description.
