I am here for Friends

About Me

My name is inevitably… Robyn. Just in case no one has figured that out by now, even from viewing my profile title. Any-of-the-many-ways, I am 19 years of age (though, as you’ll find out, I tend to act older most of the time… and when I’m not acting older, I’m being a charming humorist) and I have currently finished my first year at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia (and yes, only women undergraduates attend here). I have taken (and passed) a religions course (with a C), an art history course (with a B), a freshman seminar course (titled “Heroes: Types and Archetypes”; with a B), an acting course (with an A), a history course (with a B), a psychology course (with a B), a course on American Musical Theater (with an A), and a film course (with a B+). I’m trying to find my individual path in this world, but I do know my passions: acting, writing, and music. I write (or rather type) during almost every waking second of my spare time and I adore playing instruments. I also couldn’t live without listening to music. It’s so hard to explain, but… without music, my blood would more than likely stop running through my veins. My world would be at a permanent stand-still and I would have nothing to live for. Hopefully now you see how important it is to me.
Moving onward! I enjoy meeting new people and making friends, but that doesn’t mean I bond with everyone. My everyday goal is to make people laugh and to enjoy myself. My friends are as genuine as gold and I hope I’ll keep in contact with all of them for years to come. And a young man back in my home county has stolen my heart and we have been going steady for a long time now. “A long time” meaning… longer than two and a half years. He is the chocolate to my peanut butter and the Ben to my Jerry’s. I also enjoy the company of a handful of my family members. My family consists of wide varieties of people… musicians, church-goers, pastors, UPS & mail workers, war veterans, current Marine-goers, homeschoolers, etc. Some are hateful, some are close-minded, and some are remarkably even worse than what I've listed. I do my best to make up for their negative personalities and feelings, and I know I shouldn’t and that it is not my responsibility to worry about them, but I don’t understand how they do and think what they do. Oh what a tangled web THEY weave. Ah… “To each his own”, right? Right.
Anyway, I recently had an on-campus job with HU’s work-study program with the secretary to the Music and Dance departments. I worked almost every day of the week (anywhere from 3-5 hours a day, depending on how many and how long my classes are) and I earned (possibly less than) minimum wage. What I made went towards my tuition to help pay for all of the fees and such. I'm glad that I was fortunate to experience having a first job that can give me something worthy enough to put on a resume. Anyway, I’m even considering transferring to another college this upcoming year or the year after, but I’ll have to see what works out. I want to follow my dreams and passions, but I do need to be reasonable and realistic at the same time.
Before I forget, if I gave this site to you because you're a good friend of mine from RB, this is undoubtedly Larmica! I don't have chara. pictures or anything, but I just want you to have a way to keep in touch with me. I love you RB friends (you know who you are) and I hope to see you around often enough to keep me happy on the site!
So, in conclusion, get to know me. I honestly doubt that you’ll regret it.
