Burn the Blood

Heavily influenced by the melody of such Swedish bands as: At the Gates, early In Flames, Eucharist, Dimension Zero, and Dark Tranquillity, and equally inspired by metal gods Judas Priest, the almighty King Diamond, old Metallica, and Slayer, Burn the Blood hail from Raleigh, NC. The band began writing and practicing in the fall of '98 with sole remaining original member Ted Gasper on guitar and Bennie Powell(now in Valient Thorr) on drums. Though abundant lineup changes seemed to plague the band, eventually a steady lineup was achieved with the addition of drummer Jason Stallings, bassist Ray King, and more recent addition Hoyt Minges handling second guitar duties. Over the years, the band has toured brielfly, and played shows around the NC/SC region, sharing the stage with the likes of: Vital Remains, Daylight Dies, Valient Thorr, Wretched, Lust Of Decay, The Knifetrade, The Kickass, Widow, Lecherous Nocturne, Omniscient, Domination Through Impurity, Apotheosys, and Thunderlip, to name but a few.

The lyrics and overall concept of the band foretell of a bleak future- humankind's final hour, as we have led ourselves to the brink of our own demise on a road paved with selfishness and in"humanity," only to awaken to ruin and regret.
Update: 1/3- We're going back in the studio this week to continue work on our upcoming album, 'Won' with former guitarist Thomas Clark handling the 1's & 2's. The drums are all but finished, so we'll be starting on guitars soon. Definitely excited! We've recorded drums for 8 songs so far, and everything is sounding great! We should be finishing up with everything sometime in Feb. Would also like to thank the entire Raleigh metal community as well as all the amazing bands we've played with over the last couple months...
