The Alcobastards (ALBUM OUT NOW!!!!)

About Me

The Alcobastards - street-punk/Oi! Band, whose members are punks and skinheads from suburbs of Saint-Petersburg. The band was started in spring 2007 planning to play various kinds of punk-rock with the main requirement – no political lyrics, but at the same moment band members have anti-racist views. Band lyrics is accentuated on problems of inhabitants of “bad” areas and traditional values of street subcultures. The most sufficient influence on the band was done by Russian street-punk bands like “Uchitel’ Truda”, “The Zapoy” and “Nichego Horoshego”, and also band from Belarus “Mister X”. In their sound “Alcobastards” try to achieve a mix of old-school melodic street-punk of 80’s (Cock Sparrer, Cockney Rejects, Skrewdriver, The Business) with aggressive modern sound (The Unseen, Casualties, Discipline). The band also uses some elements of psychobilly and down beat. Band members have been changed many times, at current moment they are: Volodya Spiridonov – drums, Boris Rasierklinge – bass, back vocals, Ivan Kisly – guitar, back vocals, Vitold Smetan – vocals. During 2 years of it’s life the band happened to take part in many punk-shows in Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad region, and also some shows in other Russian cities. There are also couple of demo-records: Demo (2007) and EP (2008) and full-length album "Forever United"(2009), promo-records from which are already available for listening.
