THE MOSH-FATHER'S RETIREMENT
19 YEARS
THE INCEPTION:
During December 1989, a song sparked a dormant inferno inside of David Campos, a.k.a. Decomposed. As his friend Steve Russell recounted the story behind a song that he had written, David was inspired. The name of the song was “Pit Bullâ€. It described a guy who moshed in the pit with style. Feeling a bit envious and wanting to test him, everyone else began to shove and push the mosher down. Much to their surprise, when he arose from the floor, the mosher had become a bull. Not only did he withstand the brutality, but it actually made him stronger – he was a bull!
At the time David heard this song, he was already an avid mosher. He couldn’t play an instrument or sing, but David’s style, skill and stamina in the pit were well known and respected. He decided to organize his fellow moshers and he calls the organization the "Pit-Bulls".
Now, the Pit-Bulls are still growing and expanding their involvement in the scene. As always, the Pit-Bulls support the scene by attending all shows possible. Through extensive traveling to shows and fests across the country, the Pit-Pulls are gaining nation-wide recognition. They also book and promote shows, and produce a video zine that features live interviews with numerous band members.
Rapidly increasing their ranks, the Pit-Bulls are constantly enlisting new recruits, uniting moshers everywhere. See you in the pit!
