Hi! My name is Mod (aka Moddy).
I was born in 1983, under the beautiful sky of Bangkok, Thailand. After finish from Satit Prasarnmith Secondary School, I attended and earned the bachelor degrees from the Srinakharinwirot University, major in Computer Science.
As soon as I graduated, I worked as a Software Engineer or JAVA Programmer for one year, then pursued my career in the IT industry as a Software Tester (QA Engineer)for another one and a half year.
Although I've been working in the Information Technology, but my heart always fulfill with music, especially Jazz.
As far as I remember, I begin to listen to jazz since I was in high school. By the time I was 18, I have never realized that the song I like is Jazz, until I got an album, "Jazz on Cinema". It's totally broaden my music aspects. I did not know much about the songs, only the movie titles that caught my eyes since I am a drama movie lovers too.
Since then, I tried to search for other songs from the jazz artists and enjoy every moment that I spent on jazz, including the live concerts, without knowing myself, I gradually became a jazz lovers.
As a result, I decided to go on my piano lesson after stop playing it for 10 years. I used to learn classic piano private lesson from 6 to 13 years old and then quited for some reasons. However, Jazz reverses my piano appreciation. While searching for job after finish the college, I came back to attended the piano lesson, this time with jazz and together with classical, as my teacher says classical is also fundamental to jazz. Furthermore, I also interested in playing Clarinet and Jazz Vocals. For Clarinet, I only took a beginner lesson. For Jazz vocals, I just have fun singing on my own. As time goes by, I have to admit that I need to concentrate only one instrument at the very first level.
Finally, it's been 2 and a half years now since I have started into piano jazz. It is getting better each day if I am not too lazy for the practice. Lately, I've known some friends in jazz business, including the jazz musicians, the press, the record importer, and of course, other jazz lovers.
Now my new goal is about promoting jazz in Thailand. Probably as soon as I finish my MBA, I will come back to promote and organize the jazz event in my country. It would be cool to see more people appreciate Jazz, just like people in western countries. At least, let they be more open to various kind of music.
So here is a Joke...
"Think about Jazz Network in Thailand? Think about Me"
... hahahha Well.. you never knows ;)
