Los Metales Ambia was formed by Roy Chapa (Chapa), and Lucio Alvarez III, who have been playing together for several years now. They can be seen, and heard with Orquesta Salmerum at any of the major salsa clubs in Houston. As a horn section they have worked with Grupo Kache, Grupo Batacha, Orquesta Volcan, Colombian Power and countless others on their own. Aside from local gigs they are in high demand for many artists that come to Houston. With their work with the Party on the Plaza they have performed with Anthony Cruz, Orquesta Mulenze, Tito Rojas, Nino Segarra, Maelo Ruiz, Eddie Santiago, Primi Cruz, Pedro Jesus, Tony Vega, Pedro Conga, Roberto Torres, Tito Allen just to name a few. They also perform with other bands for festivals, and clubs to back up artists like the late Tito Gomez, Choco Orta, Mimi Ibarra, Luigi Texador, Luisito Ayala, Luisito Carrion, Henry Fiol, Andy Montanez, Larry Harlow, the late Tommy Olivencia, Paquito Guzman, Pedro Brull, the late Marvin Santiago, Camilo Azuquitar, Jose Mangual, Jimmy Sabater, Tito Puente Jr., Lefty Perez and so many more.
