my name is jim. i sing, play guitar, and write songs in HELEN STELLaR. 2007 has been quite a crazy year, for me and many people i am close with- so i decided to record some songs about it. nothing too obvious- i've never written that way. i've always preferred to let the listener (who i am grateful for) have their own experience with the songs. in other words, i want you to feel like the songs are yours, for you, for your life, for your experiences, for those "trivial" moments that can UPLIFT or DESTROY you! after all, those moments are what every song i've ever written or played is about. i put away the amplifiers and distortion pedals and decided to go back to "basics"- an acoustic guitar and a voice. there are other accompaniments here and there that i feel emphasize a feeling i couldn't quite get with the "basics", but its still just me for the most part: naked and exposed, but with a really good hiding place...
