Bowlin' Alley

About Me

BOWLIN' ALLEY is the third feature film from the geniuses at Outsiders Productions. After wrapping their award-winning drama, The Cellar, those happenin' cats at Outsiders signed on to shoot the Todd Kinnamon - penned script "Bowlin' Alley" - a comedy set in an Oklahoma bowling alley on one night of business. Production started in October of 2005 at the ABC Bowling Center in Ada, Oklahoma with Outsiders' Kenny Pitts and Angelina Hampton producing; Jason Alexander, the director of photography / co-editor of both The Cellar and Outsiders' first project, Looking for Hope, signed on to DOP, with first time director Kinnamon working in collaboration with writer/director Adam Hampton behind the camera. An early challenge involved casting the character heavy requirements of the flick - from the weary, beautiful last-night-on-the-job waitress (Avery), the repulsively loveable maintenance man (Mick), his pregnant lady friend (Betsy), the horny Anthony Michael Hall - inspired teenagers (Brad and Dylan), the "best damn pool player in the Oklahomas" - a clueless cowboy named Steve, and the testosterone heavy bowling league team. The flick displays talented actors from Tulsa, Shawnee, McLoud, Dale, Ada, and Oklahoma City - as well as Texas. Post-production on the flick concluded in the summer of 2007 - the movie was edited by Alexander and Hampton (their third collaboration at the computer with energy drinks and midnight snack runs) and the post-production audio was gorgeously enhanced by Nashville's Tony Weeks. Bowlin' Alley's soundtrack is as colorful as the zany characters featured in the moviel - full of Oklahoma artists from Falcon Five-O, Hosty Duo, and Vance Phillips to Nashville's coolest indie musicians. Bowlin' Alley's premiere to a sold out crowd in Shawnee, OK in August of this year was a met with blown minds and three audience members died from happiness. A second showing was held at the Southern Winds Film Festival. Outsiders are currently awaiting the arrival of Bowlin' Alley on DVD (full of awesome extras, commentary, trailers, and more) and are eager to unleash this hilariously non-PC movie to the world of independent flicks and the film festival circuit.
