kathy mctavish is a composer & improvisational cellist living in the woods outside of duluth, mn. her music ranges from spare, bluesy minimalism to dense, full-bodied landscapes. she blends a distinct acoustic sound with the occasional warped echo to create live, multidimensional sound spaces. her style has been described as haunting & soulful; evocative of the human voice.
kathy is available for studio work, for live collaboration and for solo performances. she has created work for use behind visual art, poetry, dance & film projects and can be commissioned to create music for similar collaborations.
