About Me

WELCOME TO MY SPACE....
[05.14.09] ...only by grace and mercy...
Hello ppl!! It's been a few months since I've sat down for awhile in my-space. What's been going on? Well, my mother-in-law passed away and I will truly miss her. She was sooo feisty and real. With her passing, I now have custody of my 17 yr-old neice. God definately has a plan because 20 yrs ago when my nieces mother was a teen dealing with the death of her own mother, and abuse from her father - when she came and lived with us. It's no accident that 20 years later when her daughter, my neice, was in distress, she was sent to our home. I don't know what God is up to; but I know this...all things really do work together for the good of them that love the Lord. My neice has been in church most of her life while living with my mother-in-law, she's born again, college bound and will be able to live a good life as long as she sticks with the Lord and His statutes.
[03.05.09] It's a new day!
Hey...I'm baaack!! I haven't signed in since 2008. I am more than well-rested after my campaign work. It was worth it because Barack Obama is President of the United States! I may not agree with him on everything (and I don't).....but he is appointed for this time and I will pray for him and his family without ceasing.
[January 2009] My husband, members of my family, friends and me went to the Inauguration and had a blast in Washington DC. The Day of Service on Martin Luther King Jr Day was also an awesome experience for all of us. It was a real blessing to be part of history and to be among such a diverse gathering of people. We will never forget it.
Here's a few pics....

Because of so many mishaps and metro incidents we couldn't make it to our original seats --- but that wasn't going to stop us. We went to "Plan B". We headed to 18th street and then towards the National Mall and started walking with thousands of people.
Although there was thousands of us walking together, there was no pushing or shoving. Many of us total strangers talked to each other and took pics on the way down.
I could hardly hold back the tears. I was there to see it and could stand there knowing I worked to register voters (regardless of their party choices), attend rallys and energize our youths political interest.
Checking out the parade route -- that viewing booth they built was beyond cool.
For lots more pics and to see them enlarged, checkout my Photobucket link at the bottom of the page.

I enjoy working with and volunteering my time within the NC Democratic Party in various counties and the National Democratic Party in various states. I am dedicated to CHANGE in America….change in my community…and most of all, change in my family‘s future.
Global and National causes are fine -- but there is nothing like impacting my own community...
"GOTV Rally in Harnett County 2008"...
...Bob Etheridge (2nd District Congressman)
.….I believe in supporting my local candidates, below are two of my favorite people …they both have earned my respect as leaders....
Congressman Bob Etheridge , 2nd District (D) -- This is the nicest man, no matter what event I see him at, large or small, he is usually the first there and ready to meet with his constituents. He has been very effective for NC residents.
Judge Cheri Beasley , NC Court of Appeals (D), Fayetteville, NC -- a fabulous woman and community leader. She is endorsed by educators, law enforcement, attorneys and NOW.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Jesus Christ (at my appointed time), President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, Dorothy Height, Oprah, Joyce Meyer, Henry Louis Gates, Paula White and so many more.
