Kerri Lee Smith

About Me

After a several year hiatus from writing and performing, Kerri is back on the music scene. A quick jolt into stardom, winning local round of the Colgate Country Music Showdown, helped her finally realize, "What have I been waiting for? This is what I've always wanted to do; get to it!"
She's currently working on her first studio project at Frigo Recording in Boalsburg PA. Kerri will also be recording live performances from Sunday mornings at Antioch International Church in downtown State College, PA.
Normally bent toward acoustic roots/Americana folk genres, Kerri is also exploring possibilities in the realm of Country music. Regarding songwriting, Kerri says: "Writing used to come really naturally to me; I let it dry up for so long it's taking a while to prime the pump, but I'm anticipating the songs flowing out. I'm preparing containers to hold them all now."
Kerri took a course this summer at Berklee College of Music's online school in songwriting. "It was a great jumpstart for me. I hit a plateau several years ago with writing, got frustrated and quit. I learned some valuable skills and tools to help me push through those times when I get stuck and still be creative."
Kerri Lee Smith is also a worship leader at her church, where she passionately worships Jesus with her original writing and heartfelt vocals.
