+design is considered to be the leading and most influentialpublication
within the greek design community since 1998. Every other month +design
presents its readers with examples of the very best in the
fieldsofgraphicdesign,illustration,webdesign and product design.
+design is a reference publication, more like a book than a magazine, since
its issues are collected (read and then stacked on the bookshelf for future
reference,
rather than “consumed†and then disposed off).
It is common practice that our readers often call to order back issues if
they happen to have “gaps†in their collection. As a result, a number of our
back issues
(15 out of the 46) have completely sold out.
The reason for this readers behavior is most probably
the content of the magazine which is not current-
issues oriented, but rather focused on the visual stimuli, including the
showcasing of the best in greek (and international design).
+design has been organizing the annual Greek Design & Illustration
Awards since 2002. The awards ceremony of this Icograda endorsed event is
thought to be the most important annual event in Greece, while the Awards
catalogue has sold out four times in its five yearsoldhistory.
Further more, Greek Design Panorama (a two day design conference
held each year in Athens) and D-day (a one day conference held each year in
Thessaloniki) both highly successful events, ensure
that +design stays closely in touch with its readership basis.
Internationally Active
+design is a member of the “Icograda Design Media Network†(and actually one
of the three founding members of it). It was the
first(andsofaronly)greekpublicationtofeatureintheIcograda list of proposed
publications.
+design is a member of the Epica Jury Network (and one of the few design
magazines in this predominantly advertising oriented
network)
Further more +design is one of the 12 european magazines that form the
“European Design Awards†partners. The firstEDAwards ceremony are to be held
in Athens (May 2007) under the organizational care of +design.
