My track 'Toad' was the classical track of the day on garageband.com on Tuesday the 17th of October.
My favorite thing to do is writing or playing music. It doesn't matter if it's good, I just like the process. I like writing music that is mathmatical and precise. Sometimes I write music that sounds kind of like metal or industrial or noise music. Sometimes it sounds like Classical music. I have been compared to both KMFDM and Yanni (I think the Yanni comparison was an insult).
I write music by inserting it directly into a piano roll. Piano rolls on computers mimic the original Piano Rolls that were used in player pianos. Piano Rolls were originally rolls of paper with holes cut in them that a player piano would read in order to play music. In electronic music, a piano roll is graphical and you insert bars that coincide with notes. With this, you can control the pitch, the start time, and the velocity (or how hard the note is hit). In some programs you can control other things like the mod wheel, the pitch wheel, and breath control through the piano roll editor.
I also like just jamming. Jamming can sound like crap or can sound pretty good, it all depends on who I am jamming with, how well we gel, and whether we are having a good day.
I like writing poetry. I've won a hundred dollars writing poetry. It made me feel good.
Like everyone else, I like hanging out with my friends. My friends are some of the coolest kids on the planet. They make me happy.
I have ADD. I take medicine for it. The medicine makes me act normal. This is very wierd for me, I have spent my whole life acting wierd.
I am quite intelligent. The last test I took put my IQ at 132. This means that I am smarter than 95% of the people on the planet. Some of my friends are even smarter.
I have been married. My ex-wife is cool, we just didn't get along well enough. If anyone knows how to contact her, let me know. I'd like to see how she's doing.
I was engaged for more than 5 years to my last GF. She is pretty awesome, but could no longer put up with me. I wish her well.
I like playing videgames: Warcraft III, Starcraft, Soul Calibur 2 & 3, Mario Cart, Civ III, Star Wars Battlefront.
I like hiking every once in a while. I'm not an every weekend hiker. More like a handful of times every summer. And not in Oregon. No amount of allergy medicine can protect me from the plants of Oregon.
I am not very materialistic. Functionality is more important to me than appearance. I have a backpack (A day pack not a frame pack) that is 12 years old and I have used almost everyday in that time. I bought 2 cool backpacks before it that only lasted about 6 months each. I decided to buy the cheapest black backpack that I could find. It has worked remarkably well. I also have a CD player. It's pretty much the same story. For a long time I bought a CD player every 6 months. My birthday was coming up when the one before this one broke. I asked my folks for a new one. I gave them specifications. They bought a middle of the price range cd player for me. It's a panasonic and has lasted me for a number of years. I love the things I have but lust for very little that I don't have.
I have 5000 comics that I collected in Junior High and High School. I'll sell them someday and make a bunch of money - or that's what I keep telling myself.
