Vinzetta Jackson-aka-"Lyric The Lyracist" was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in an area where drugs and gang violence were prevalent. In looking for an escape, Vinzetta immersed herself into music, something she loved from the early age of 5. Trying various group projects with friends and family, she persude a talent for writing her own material, which eventually lead her into a solo career at the early age of 12.
In 2005, Lyric moved to Minnesota, where she began working with other friends, who together form the rap trio "Looney Mobb". Skooby G Slimm (a member of Looney Mobb) began admiring Lyric’s dedication and business savy, decided to add her to the musical family. Later, she was appointed "Thee First Lady of Looney Mobb Entertainment"! Late in 2006, She was introduced to Mainstream Music Productions, Inc. a place where Looney Mobb was doing their recording. This is where Lyric began networking with William “Bigg Will†Baker who eventually became Lyric’s business manager.
"Lyric The Lyracist" has merged two genres of music together (R&B/Hip-Hop) along with her own unique blend of music that will take the world by storm. She will bring a fresh, new, versitile style to the market that will break new ground in the Hip-Hop game. She will be seen as a serious Artist, as well as 1 of the premier female m.c.'s that will make Hip-Hop History.
Currently, Lyric is working on her 1st independent album, that will hit the underground, as well as the main stream hard! She promises that the album will have hard hitting lyrics, addictive hooks, that will display her strong vocal skills that will show the world that she is not just another rapper, singer, or performer (as quoted in one of her songs). You can expect lyrical content and phrases not usually delivered by a female artist, earning her the name "The Lyracist".
Look forward to the release of her independent album "Birth Of An Icon" late in 2008. "Lyric The Lyracist" plans to showcase her talents, by performing in shows across the U.S., that will earn her a fan base with the hard work and dedication of an upcoming Artist. She will remarkably make a name for herself as a phenomenon.
