The Hip Jazz Trio

About Me

The Hip Jazz Trio / Abdu Salim, Akim Bournane, Ton Ton Salut" Annaba... Texas via Sevilla... exit Toulouse. A surprising geographic itinerary which projects, to our acoustic delight, the most astonishing musical trajectory. Ton-Ton Salut will never cease to astound his public. An inspired drummer, the grace that moves him allows him to provoke unexpected and... striking encounters. The trio that he presents on tour belongs to the register of divine surprises. Abdu Salim, of Texan origin, Andalusian by predilection, Dexter Gordon Award, is a generous, inventive saxophonist and flutist, possessing a sparkling musicality and endowed with a savage sound now rough then soft. A physical musician for music that comes from the soul. Akim Bournane, Algerian by birth, is a virtuoso double bass player whose solos we wish to hear through pure gourmandise, desire and necessity. Christian Ton-Ton Salut, the foreman of this architecture composed of notes, experienced shaman, through the magic of his sticks puts the best qualities of each of his fellow musicians in touch in concert. He must be a bit of a sorcerer to suddenly make this magical music appear, secretly African, which long afterwards haunts our temples as a spell.... Of Coltrane fidelity, this trio also plays the beautiful and original compositions created by the talent of Abdu Salim. Here is the proof that the love of standards in no way hinders the passion of creation...of the most innovative. " Michel Lafarge (l'Humanité)
