the band was started because of drunken conversations in the pub and bones had a go at sid vicious's my way in a local boozer, dizzie's,on the karaoke..and when we realized it was an easy and free way to get into gigs and see the bands we liked..we went for it..
we're not entirely sure of the date of the first rise of the happy spastics, as memory is a little hazy.. but the first members were..BONES -vocals/ SEAN- guitar/JOHN-DOE-bass/MIKEY-drums..this version never lasted too long.. mikey getting sacked.. and bones then stuffed his pizza delivery scooter into a phone box!!sean got booted out after a fist fight with bones in a pitch black bedsit.other
people to get shanghaied along the years were GARY- bass/GIBBY-drums/ ETHAN-drums and guitar (not at the same time.. obviously!)/KENNY- bass/ a female drummer who's name no-one can remember, who left afetr 1 gig!! freaked out cause there was an internal band fight we played at the infamous tap o' lauriston.. /NEIL-drums/JAMIE-guitar/DAVY-guitar/..with a few others helping out along the way.. we appreciated it..(gogs.. stu..dave peggy.. gav). Throughout the years , the band played many memorable gigs up and down the country at various picnics, benifit gigs and whatever gig and because we liked a drink or two and managed to fuck up the odd gig, we got a well justified name of being chaos drunk punx!!
The band managed to record 6 tracks.. 4 of which were relaesed as the"war" ep on fight records from finland.. some tracks also ending up on various benefit tapes.
we have managed to play with a host of bands including..SUBHUMANS/ EXPLOITED/M.D.C/CASUALTIES/M.S.O/INSTANT AGONY/NEWTOWN GRUNTS/
OI POLLOI/BEERGUT 100/DREAD 101/ & lots more..
Along with the only original member, Bones.. Ali g has remained in the band after a small hiatus..and have now recruted Scalzey (from lots of previous bands like sawn off & mortal terror and still in afterbirth),on guitar, Paul, (ex-beergut 100, social insecurity ..which also had bones at the vocal duties too!, afterbirth.. picking up the bass again after a good few years..and Credo, from millions of past bands too.. on drums..
we have just recently played our first gig with the new line up and have a few more planned for the future.. we are also about to write some new songs and hope to be in the studio sometime this year..!.
