Molly

About Me

Molly Contogeorge wrote and recorded her first song at age 10 and has been recording consistently ever since. In 2008 Molly made the journey to Austin, Texas for SXSW, and recorded her debut EP at ‘Electric Avenue Studios’ (other clients include Kanye West, The Vines) in Sydney and in Byron Bay. This year also saw her as a junior top ‘4’ finalist in Australia’s prestigious National Youth week ‘Rock it’ competition, as well as a finalist in the ‘National Songwriting’ competition. Molly also had finalist success in Australia’s leading competition for independent artists ‘Musicoz’ (2008.)
Molly’s music is alternate pop laced with undertones of jazz and soul. Her voice is crystal clear with a maturity that belies her young 18 years.
Molly spent much of ’08 performing in venues around Sydney (The Basement, Supper Club etc) to begin promoting her debut EP “Cause and Effect”. On conclusion of Southby ’09, Molly will go into pre-production for her second EP. Molly will also embark on a solo tour of NSW, Victoria, Southern Queensland and New Zealand (North Island.)
"At just 17 Molly's compositional originality coupled with her crystal clear vocals gives her original compositions a unique character and an unexpectedly mature edge for such a young artist.”
---Rod Mason (OAM)--- ---Music Industry Specialist---
"Molly's songs are engaging, ground breaking and seriously attention grabbing with really original ideas."
---Tim Daley---
(Music Program Director for Foxtel)“Her name’s Molly, the leading lady of pop...” --Sydney’s official music publication “The Drum media” (Readership 150,000)--
