Out of the office!

About Me

I started playing percussion when I was twelve. Since then I have played in Drum and bugle corps, Jazz bands, Latin bands, Rock bands, jam bands, orchestras, and theater. From 1988 to 1990 I was a member of the spirit of Atlanta Snare line and placed 7th in the individual solo competition. I attended The University of TN with a Focus in Instrumental music performance. (never graduated and could care less) From 1994 to 1998 I toured as the percussionist for the rock band Kings of the Killerfish. From 1999-2000 I toured with the jam band Hannaward pass. I have been teaching percussion for 20 years... (yikes!) I have appeared on 20 CD recordings on both percussion and Drum set. In 1994 I contributed several works and a section on Hybrid snare drum rudiments to the Rudimental Cookbook published by Rowl-off productions in Nashville, TN. I am currently teaching private drum lessons at Forks Drum Closet as well as the drummer/co-creator of the touring group Christabel and the Jons.
I like to play Frisbee golf by myself. I love to drive late at night while listening to music. I love the kids I teach but I don't want to raise them! I like old stuff and anything created thoughtfully and with attention to detail. I am drawn to good beer and conversations with good friends or just random strangers. I love to travel and meet people but the best part of traveling is the unpredictable circumstances. Movies are better than TV. Dark beer appeals to me more than hoppy. I love a lot of music but nothing compares to the sound of any acoustic instrument. ( sorry elecronicoshredderguitarheros. Just my personal preference.) I believe in a lot of stuff but nothing specific. Tomorrow I will change my mind.
