Chipped wooden benches with half filled barcardi bottles wrapped in torn damp paper bags,
Broken glass cascaded through hundreds of crowded streets, Vibrations from extra bass on surround sound systems in every large vehicle speeding by,
Busy bus stops on every block,
Packed basketball courts with bent hoops and missing nets,
Full bast foul language in every mouth,
Grown men on the corner with smoky lungs grasping a Newport freestyling continually,
Crisp 90 dollar Uptown Nikes, Jordans, and Tims loosely fitted on every pair of feet,
Delayed underground slow running subway trains tightly packed heated infested with rats and roaches,
Best friends equipped with kids, no family, no job, and most of all an addiction; whether it be illegal drugs, sex, money, fame, or just straight up attention...This is where I'm from. I'm a 24 year old green-eyed puerto rican female with a slight attitude. Weighing a buck fifty with the height of 5'5. I hold my own frequently with a decent job and a future ahead. I always see a way out whether it seems unacceptable or even impossible.
