Nini, a talented vocalist with a classical background and Ben, a strong pianist and gifted music engineer has traveled the world together seeking adventure and music. The duo have spent years performing all over Europe and Australia, writing poignant songs about their adventures, and falling in love with the gypsy lifestyle. Their daily life consisted of waking up in a ragged old VW bus, doing various jobs, performing at clubs and coffee houses, writing music and connecting with fellow musicians. This simple but unpredictable way of living has influenced them to seek out the most profound moments of life and capture them in their warm and expressive songs. In 2007 they settled in Boston, Massachusetts to attend Berklee College of Music and bring together their vision within the hotbed of talent of the Boston music scene. Recently Boston has seen a large spurt of creativity in its varied musicians and artists and Nini and Ben came at just the right time to befriend some of Boston’s finest musical acts and share in their creative community. Later that year they released their debut album “Rise and Shineâ€.Since then their musical evolution has flourished, with the influence of their experience always recreating their sound and souls. In 2009, they joined together with a group of musicians that would put definition to their music and support the songwriting to no end. Bassist Derek McWilliams, drummer and percussionist Jake Cohen, southern guitarist Johnny Duke and pedal steel guitarist Tommy Bohlen joined together with Nini and Ben to bring their rich textures of experience to the duo’s songwriting. McWilliams and Cohen both have played in many great acts in their time providing a sophisticated rhythmic relationship. Johnny Duke’s mentorship with blues guitarist David Bromberg is a strong influence on his virtuosic and innovative guitar playing and has given him a matured and stylish sound. The band is rounded out by the warm pedal steel playing of Tommy Bohlen, a lover of Americana music.Meeting other up and coming performers in Boston, the band began to play shows with artists of a common mind sharing in their love of art and community. Their first show as a steady lineup was to a sold out crowd of 1,200 people at the Berklee Performance Center and since then their shows have been peaking the interest of fans all around the world. This year has also seen Nini and Ben signed to Boston's Heavy Rotation Records and have just finished recording their second album at the world famed Avatar Studio in NYC under the guidance of engineer and producer Rich Mendelson who has worked with acts such as Rhianna, The Cars, and Boston.
