Je veux les chiens pleins chez moi!!

About Me

I grew up in Paducah, Texas, working with my family for my dad's custom harvesting business. Still love wheat fields to this day. I graduated from Midwestern State University in December of 2006 with a BA in English. I'm married to Mark Felts, a world history teacher(ha, that still sounds funny to me; I can't believe he's a "teacher"), and we live with our chocolate lab Soloman in Wichita Falls, TX. I worked for the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra as stage manager and for the Wichita Falls Youth Symphony as Executive Director up until June of 2008. I am currently living in Nantes, France with my husband as a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar-- it is a completely amazing life that I live. I love boats and airplanes. My favorite color is red; favorite dessert is cheesecake, cake, ice cream, pie, sweetie sweet sweets. I miss Tex-Mex food immensely-- Mr. Tacos serves NO tacos here. I like laminating things. I drive a red '97 Firebird that gets terrible gas mileage but I absolutely love my car and Mark is trying to convince me to get rid of it (he's the devil). If I could have one of every kind of dog in the world, I would take two of them. I hate vanilla scented candles. I don't like it when stupid people are in charge of things. I hate the sound of other people clipping their nails (it doesn't bother me so much when I'm doing it). Clowns are the creepiest, scariest things ever to walk the earth. French protests are awesome, only when they are protesting something legitimate. And even the dogs protest here. I have never dyed my hair, and I hate walking in heels, but I love the way they look. That about sums me up!!

Back to life

4 and a half weeks left in France.  I don't really know how to describe what I'm feeling about leaving and returning home-- it's sort of like a limbo; for some reason it seems weird to still be here.....

Halloween exists (sort of) in France

So apparently the French have recently begun to celebrate Halloween, but it is a touchy subject.  The older generations do not like it at all because they consider it an "American" holiday, and t...

It rains every day in Nantes-- whether it is for 2 seconds, 30 minutes, or toute la journee; it rains every day.  But, that is not necessarily a bad thing; the weather is always cool, and when th...
