Lori Burleson Music/Sodium Poundcake

I'm an aspiring singer/songwriter from Houston, Tx. I have just started to find my own way with my own sound. I saw Kable and Hearts of Animals in a show at DiverseWorks this summer and was truly inspired! I went home after the show and wrote my first song. It was a complete disaster, and there is no exaggeration in that statement. Further attempts have been much more successful! I am currently studying composition with Dr. Ann Gebuhr and will be composing music for my own film in the next few months. I am also studying voice with Mr. Rick Piersall. I will graduate in May of 2009 with a degree in Vocal Performance from Houston Baptist University. My journey to discover my voice has been a real pleasure mixed with a lot of frustration. The joy at the end of the day is what makes it worthwhile, even if the joy at the end of the day is really joy at the end of the month when inspiration finally comes along! I am so excited to see where this particular path leads me, and how this journey will change the way I view my life and the world around me.
