Maybe you’re old enough to remember it…the way that music sounded coming out of an A.M. radio in your dad’s truck when he drove you to school in the morning…or the 8-track player at your grandmother’s house…Haggard, Jones, Charley Pride, Ronnie Milsap, Mel Street…. remember…70’s country…. real country.
Well, we remember, and we are proud of it.
It all started a while back when a few of us Nashville “pickers†decided that we were tired of playing too loud, and that we seldom got the chance anymore to play the music we loved.
A few months later, 45 rpm was ready to go…playing our kind of country music at Douglas Corner once a month.
Several of country music’s biggest names have been known to drop by and set in with the band for a number or two, singing their favorites.
So drop on by and check us out some Wednesday night…we promise not to play too loud, and the good folks at Douglas corner will have a cold beer for you to go along with whichever Gary Stewart song we happen to play next.
See y’all there.John Wesley Ryles
