Nathan is a guitarist, composer, and improviser. He has studied jazz under Randy Johnston, Rich Goldstein, Nat Reeves, Steve Davis, Rene McLean, Rick Rozie, and others and has experience playing world music with the trio Loukoum. He recently assembled a quintet to pay homage to the music of Andrew Hill--listen to "Malachi / Time Lines" and "Dusk" (John Phillips-Sandy: tenor sax / clarinet; Joshua Bruneau: trumpet; Seth Lewis: bass; Jonathan "JB" Barber: drumset; Nathan: guitar).Nathan is currently working as an acoustician, consulting in the design of performing arts facilities and concert halls. He is also working on a collection of solo guitar pieces, which so far has been an exploration of looping and texture. "A", "Waiting", and "Rain Clouds" are the beginnings of this new project (all recorded in his living room).
