It all started in the end of 2006 when Steffe and Wicce bought their first instruments, neither of them had ever played an instrument before, if you don’t count the flute they played in third grade. They started banging away in the garage but soon realized that they first of all needed a singer, second they needed someone who could play riffs and solos, third they needed someone with a little more experience and musical knowledge so they brought in Harri. He probably thought that this was some kind of sick joke because he was on the verge of putting the guitar on the shelf, but he somehow agreed to check out the garage thing. Soon the three of them had a good groove going in the garage and they put down all their attempts on cover songs and started writing their own material. At this point they still had one big problem to solve, they needed a bass player. I’m not really sure how they ended up with such a good bass player as Stigge but I think they found him at a local bar. They all Knew Stigge from before but somehow it hadn’t crossed their minds to ask him, luckily they didn’t have to, because he had heard about the project and offered his duties to them. They brought Stigge in and it all worked out great.
Harri and Stigge have both played in different local bands through the years while Steffe and Wicce just put together their first band, so there is a good balance in the band. There’s a few cornerstones to the band that makes them all equal, first of all it’s their love of music and second it’s their determination to do something creative…..and what else can you say than “keep it simple, stupidâ€, seems to work fine for Bad Taste.
So at the end of the line it's all about having fun and doing something creative.
