Moses is a DJ that excels in many realms, from Funky, Latin, & Progressive House to classic HipHop to Jazz & Breakbeats that take him back to his New Orleans roots.In January of 1994 Moses began playing at the House of Blues, Club Matador, The Voodoo Lounge, during Mardi Gras in New Orleans’ famed French Quarter & he also played at the 1st Electronic Music Festival in New Orleans.In 1996, Moses relocated to San Francisco, where his pumping East Coast style naturally fused with the Bay Area’s groovy oriented beats. He became a resident DJ at Strawberry Sundays, and went on to become a rotating guest at Spundaes, and the End Up’s “Kit Kat.†From ’96 to ’99, Moses was a resident at Club VSF’s “Sugar Shack†and has been a regular guest at venues such as Space 550(SF), St Marks (Venice Beach, Ca.), Luna Park ( Hollywood, Ca.), and Club Utopia (Las Vegas).In addition, on December 9th of 1998, Moses was chosen by Perry Farrell (frontman for Jane’s Addiction) to perform at the Amnesty International Human Rights 50th Anniversary benefit in Venice Beach (Los Angeles). Alongside Perry himself, Moses performed with Kid Frost, DJ Keoki, DJ Sara from Ibiza Spain, and others.In the spring of 2000, Moses played with the Marleys at Hawaii’s “Reggae by the Surf.†In November 2000, he was a guest DJ at Disco Beach Club, Radio Jaguar, and at the ACA World Sound Festival in Acapulco Mexico, performing in front of thousands with a live Saxophonist and percussionists. In Acapulco, Moses played alongside greats such as Jazzanova (Berlin), Hugh Masekela (South Africa), The Poncho Sanchez Band, Danny Tenaglia, Little Louie Vega, Frankie Knuckles, Moby, Carl Cox, LTJ Bukem, just to name a few of the artists at the 3 day Festival.On April 28th 2001, Moses was joined by a live Saxophonist at the Coachella Music Festival in Palm Springs California with Artists such as Iggy Pop, The Roots, Roni Size, Paul Oakenfold, Jane’s Addiction, Ozomatli, Tricky, The Orb, Ian Pooley, Uberzone, Fatboy Slim, The Chemical Brothers, Kruder&Dorfmeister, Medusa, Souls of Mischief, AK1200, Dieselboy, Doc Martin, Gangstarr, just to name a few of the acts playing the 5 stages at the Festival.
In March 2003, Moses rocked the Winter Music Conference in Miami Beach with gigs starting Friday at the Waverly pool party, and on Saturday night with back to back shows at Chill Lounge (Espanola Way) and closing the night in the VIP room Miami’s famed Crobar nightclub (Washington Ave.) with Josh Wink closing the main room.
In August 2003, Moses played gigs in Amsterdam’s “Club 020,†Barcelona’s “Club Domestic,†and London’s “A.K.A.†club.
In March 2004, Moses rocked it again at the Winter Music Conference in Miami Beach with gigs on sat. March 6th at the Aqua Hotel rooftop party. On March 7th, Moses played a pool party at the Blue Moon Hotel & later that day at the “Red Bull†mansion. On monday the 8th, he also played again at the “Red Bull†mansion pool party & at Vino Miami later that night.
In March 2005, Moses & his crew “Uniting Souls†played at the Winter Music Conference with live percussionists. The following day Moses & his crew were hosts to yet another amazing pool party sponsored by “Redbull†at a mansion in Miami Beach. On March 26th Moses also played at Vino Miami Beach & for the Nasdaq Tennis Championship’s private party sponsored by Bacardi.
Moses was also a resident DJ on Thursday nights at Sapphire Lounge in the Lower East Side of Manhattan with different weekly guest DJs making appearances & live drummers as well. Sapphire Lounge is one of the oldest DJ lounges in New York City, having been around for over 25 years. Sapphire Lounge is a staple of DJ culture in New York City. DJ Moses was also a resident DJ at the Gate nightclub on Astoria Blvd in New York City on Saturdays also. Currently Moses is a resident DJ at Jazid on Weds (1342 Washington Ave).
