The Young Natives Band started in 2001, Kyle's dad Vergil, needed a band to play for an event for the Monument Valley Park's annual activities. One day when Gary Yazzie of the Thunders was jamming in the entertainment building, now YN Headquarters, Kasey had stopped by and played a few songs for Gary. Vergil had heard how the young guitar player had played. So that night he told his son Kyle that he and Kasey should get together and start a band. Kyle and Kasey got together and started jamming. Kasey got his guitar and amp, and Kyle got some old drums in the back and started putting it together with duct tape and what not. They needed a bass and another guitar player. But they already knew some people in mind to play, and they were Cordell and Mario. At that time they were all in music classes and they all had some background experience with playing music. So when it came to music they all had just picked up their instruments and started jamming and from there is where it all started. From there there were a couple of changes in who played what instruments within the band. They were all in high school and produced a cd "Teenage Sensations" with J&C Music in 2004...
