About Me

Who Norman McGill is a singer/songwriter living in Roswell, GA. He was born in Michigan and spent most of his young life in Tennessee. Norman started playing music at an early age, banging on his parents’ old organ downstairs. Learning to play keyboards by ear and, eventually playing in the high school band, he developed a love of all things music. His influences range from Damien Rice, David Gray & Pete Yorn to Nick Drake, The Beatles & Bruce Springsteen. Norman plays guitar, keyboard, harmonica and an occasional electric drum and tambourine. What Norman released a self-produced collection of 10 songs in the summer of 2007, titled “til the stars fall…”. The cd is available through cdbaby.com and on iTunes, Napster and other various “legal” downloading formats. Where Norman is beginning to play out occasionally, while keeping his “day job” on the advice of someone who once said “don’t quit your day job”. When Performances will be posted on this page. My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Norman McGill :vocals, backing vocals, guitars, keyboards, harmonica, assorted percussion-type things, a mean tambo-rine, etc.

* Chris Mann : appears on several songs playing several instruments - bass, guitar, drums, mandolin, accordion, etc. etc.

* Chris Hall: bass on "Different" and "Beautiful Girl"

* Mike Finkel : organ on "Til the stars fall from the sky"
Influences: U2, Coldplay, David Gray, Beatles, Ray Lamontagne, Damien Rice, Pete Yorn, Ryan Adams, REM, Nick Drake, Pearl Jam, Red House Painters- just to name a few.
Sounds Like: Eddie Vedder, Damien Rice & Pete Yorn are all having a cup of coffee together. Damien leans over, accidentally bumps Eddie and creates a chain reaction ending in everyone's coffee on the floor mixed together. Bruce Springsteen is standing in the corner laughing so hard that he spits a little bit of his coffee into the puddle. I'd be the puddle of coffee.
Record Label: Unsigned
