Music has always been a love in his life as far back as he can remember. At the young age of 13, DJ Frankie P purchased his first set of turntables. At the time, his friends thought he was MIA, but he wasn't. He started his career like every other successful DJ becoming a bedroom DJ. Teaching himself how to mix by reading articles on internet and watching videos, he lived in his bedroom for most of his teenage years receiving complaints from neighbors on a daily basis on how he played his music too loud. As time went by, his skills got better. At 17, Frankie P started doing work for a Brooklyn based mobile DJ company. It was doing the mobile work where Frankie P built a strong foundation of music. His knowledge of music expanded and he learned a lot of music that helps him rock parties to this day. Frankie P was then introduced to a new friend, a well established pioneer in the industry, “The Wizzard in the Mix†DJ Glen Friscia. Frankie P learned a lot from Glen which has helped him tremendously get to where he is now including production, programming, music and the overall business of DJing. At the age of 18, DJ Frankie P got his first club gig. After submitting mixed tapes to local promoters in Brooklyn, Frankie was asked to open up for the legendary Funkmaster Flex at what was known as Club Enigma at the time. After the success of his first gig, he continued to play the local scene while doing the mobile work on the side. The benefits of doing the mobile work show as Frankie P is now able to play extensively for any crowd. Given the knowledge of music he learned from doing many parties for different crowds and working in radio, he is capable of playing for almost any crowd he is given. From his first performance till now, Frankie P has stepped up his game taking a little bit of everything he has learned from all his mentors and from listening to different DJs, and put it all together adding his own flavor giving him his own unique style. Frankie P had reached national radio airwaves by being included in one of the first group of rotating mix masters to feature mixes on Sirius Satellite Radios’ Dance Stream, then, known as “The Remix,†along with DJ’s such as Glen Friscia, Tony Moran, & Jonathan Peters. Frankie P was also featured mixing from the Sirius/Denon Demo booth broadcasting live from the International DJ Expo in Atlantic City NJ in 2004. Frankie P’s radio career has grown since, holding a slot at local WSIA 88.9 FM at which he mixed, produced and voiced his own hip hop/dance mix show. From there he went on to intern at NYC’s 92.3 FM (Krock). Interning under “El Covino†(now heard on Sirius’ Maxim Radio), Frankie learned a lot about the business of radio. After time with El Covino, Frankie moved to the engineering side of radio where he worked on various projects with the Howard Stern show and engineering live broadcasts for Krock & sister station at the time, Mix 102.7 FM. Frankie P currently holds a job at New York’s WCBS FM 101.1 (formerly Jack FM) working the morning show with radio legend Dan Taylor (6am-10am). DJ Frankie P’s name is now seen worldwide as his production/remix skills have earned him a spot on the world famous Crooklyn Clan mashup website called “The Vault†(www.crooklynclan.net). His name and remixes are on the site next to names of DJs such as Riz & Sizzahandz (Crooklyn Clan), Homicide & the Holla Boyz. With a performance resume at places such as Pacha (NYC), Suite (NYC), Pazzo (Brooklyn NY), The Grand (NYC), DJAIS (Belmar NJ), Deko Lounge (Sayreville NJ) & Via (NYC) to name a few, DJ Frankie P has also been fortunate enough to play alongside with some of the biggest names in the industry, not to mention, DJ’s who Frankie has looked up to and been influenced by. Opening up for DJ Riz & DJ Sizzahandz (Crooklyn Clan), DJ Skribble, Funkmaster Flex, and playing along side DJ's such as Glen Friscia & DJ Kluch, Frankie P has been heard by thousands upon thousands of people. With a young and already impressive resume, strong integrity, skills, love and respect for the music and the art of DJing, DJ Frankie P plans on performing for the biggest crowds all over the world for the rest of his life.
