D.Mag a.k.a. Dimitris Magglaris is a 28 years old artist from Thessaloniki, Greece. He began his musical carrier as a DJ in 1998, mainly because he liked to communicate through music with other people. The production came later in 2001. One of reasons why he went into producing was so that he can use his own tunes in his sets. “A DJ is an entertainer while a producer is an artist and I wanted to be bothâ€, he states.
In 2001 D.Mag, along with his friend Gio Red, formed the Drone project, a project that is still active and counts numerous releases and performances worldwide. In 2006 D.Mag and Gio Red take their collaboration to the next level. They conjoin forces with Stratos and form the label “Dezign Musicâ€, as part of the Candyflip Label Network.
Though known primarily through Drone for his contribution to the trance scene, D.Mags’ style is now a mix of everything. His tunes are a mixture of electro influenced, tech house oriented progressive music. His productions and sets range from peak time club spirit to chill out, and have at times owed influence to other genres of music besides dance. “It is the only way forward for both a DJ and a producer, to import various styles into his soundâ€.
The future of D.Mag is interlinked with the progression of his various projects and the growth of Dezign Music. “It is a journey where new, unexpected and exciting things happen in day to day basisâ€.
