Mark Taylor is a Guitarist/Vocalist/Songwriter based in NSW. For the past 12 years he has been churning out massive riffs and wild solos for Riverina veterans Mojo Squeeze. He has produced and recorded their 3 albums and 2 EP’s himself and played throughout the region with the occasional gig in Canberra. A highlight being a clip for their song Two Timing being aired on Rage and played on Triple J.For the last 6 years he has also played lead guitar in cover band Propaganda (formerly Smiling Assasains) playing extensively throughout NSW to enthusiastic crowds.Mark also began a solo career around 2001. He won the Songwriters, Composers, Lyricists, and Authors Association (SCALA) Festival of Original Music 2002 in the Master Instrumental Section for the song Dirt. In 2003 he then won the same award for the song Neverlearn. In 2003 he released his first solo album Instrumentals from the Electric Igloo featuring the winning songs, other instrumentals and demos. In 2004 he released Modern Primitive, his second album (and first to feature his vocals). Both albums received strong reviews both online and in print.Presently Mark has taken a break from Mojo Squeeze and focusing on his solo career. He has just released an all acoustic EP called Silhouettes which is the first in series of Acoustic Demos planned for this year.Featured on Silhouettes is the song Bitter Moon, which in August was announced winner of the SCALA FOOM 2007 Master Open Section for Best Song.He is currently rehearsing for some acoustic gigs planned for the end of 2007, recording the second of the Acoustic Demos EP’s and is finishing a full length album he recorded with his friend Nathan Scholz (on drums) which is strongly influenced by early Saints, The Clash, and The Who.All recordings (including Mojo Squeeze's) have been recorded and mixed by Mark on 16 and 8 track (no computer editing) then professionally mastered and released on Mark’s own label Electric Igloo Records.
