.. width="425" height="350" ..Well apparently I like taking pictures with my mouth wide open! Am I the only one who notices? But I like reading, writing, drawing, painting, photography, film making of any kind, especially when it involves my friends, ceramics, cleaning, organizing, listening to music, watching movies, sunshine, snow, Charlie Chaplin, Santa Monica, CA, antique/thrift shopping, scratch and win tickets, those carefree days in the summer with friends when you can just stretch out in the sun, watching the sun set over Bellingham wrapped in a blanket with friends, playing on the beach and in the water, exploring, Nintendo or arcade games, the Farmer's Market, Fairhaven/Bellingham at Christmas or Halloween time, getting all dressed up to go out for no real reason, dancing, hiking, swimming, biking, walking, and cooking. I love going to the gym, but I don't go that often. I love flowers, but hate flower prints. My favorite flowers are orchids, but I am a sucker for orange lilies as well. I am a hopeless romantic, but I am also horribly bitter about relationships. I love animals which can be seen by how many animals my family owns. I really like school, because I love to learn, and I am pretty good at it. Fall is my favorite season so every year I anticipate it's return and with it the return of school. Nothing beats a blustery Fall day. I'm interested in make-up, obviously since it's my career choice. A main passion of mine is traveling. My family travels a lot and I have been flying all around this country since I was a child. Just in the last few years have I been able to travel to Europe. My absolute favorite place is Scotland. I am in love with Scotland. I love everything about it. I am interested in religion. I love to study all different religions and mythology, and I also love foreign languages. I love doing volunteer work. I love dance parties with my girl friends, and all-nighters that include Catchphrase or the Horseshoe Cafe. I LOVE going to concerts! Heather has gotten me hooked on Thai food recently, and I am obsessed. In many ways I am a geek, without being an actual geek. I love comics, I love school, I like Star Wars, and maybe a few other things that roll up into my geek side. However I DON'T LIKE: Torn jean skirts and leggings, "new" 80's, rap, people who don't respect animals or other people, loggers, emo/screamo, people who TRY to be "artsy", the O.C., when people are so intellectual that they cannot properly communicate with others, new video games, most Indie films, flying, passing trains, heights, the dark, small spaces, superficiality, big businesses that crush little ones, politics, computers (ironic), telephones, mess/disorganization, small cities turning into big ones, driving, fighting, physical or verbal, drugs, excessive drinking, posers of any kind, cheaters, taking pictures with me in them because I hate forced smiles, selfishness or inconsideration, overly sweet foods, being bombarded with emotion, being ignored when I am with my pretty friends, obnoxious children, parents of obnoxious children, etc. etc.One of my biggest passions is my friends. And taking pictures of them... which I'll redo later!
I can't really say that many people strike my fancy enough to want to meet them and talk to them. If Edgar Cayce were alive, I would strive to meet him. But that isn't exactly possible! I think that I might want to meet David Lynch, because I am very intrigued by him. Maybe a few authors that are dead, but overall not too many people capture my interest in such a way. I always love to meet intellectuals, and fellow people who appreciate music and film. But no celebreties or anyone like that. I would rather not meet any of them honestly. I would drool if I met Dick Smith. He has been a make up artist for like, 60 years. He has worked on some huge movies and won awards and all. To even gain the slightest bit of knowledge from him would be orgasmic. I saw him speak once, but that just doesn't do it.IKREW @ Graduation '06
I don't think there is enough space on this site to list the music that I like. I don't really enjoy new music, although there are a few bands mixed in the shuffle that are pretty good. First and foremost come the Beatles. I am a freakin Beatle maniac. I just love them soooo much! I love their solo stuff as well. I have to say right up front that I hate the Stones. I don't like Bob Dylan, but sadly I am warming up to him more everyday. My family would be ashamed it they knew. I also hate rap and hip hop, as well as country. I like Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, ELO, Three Dog Night, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Earth Wind and Fire, The Who, Blondie, David Bowie, Supertramp, The Clash, Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick, Fleetwood Mac, The Ramones, The Vibrators, and Tom Petty. I love original punk, but I in no way claim to be so. I really like a lot of disco too. Some times you just need to dance, and I do. I also heartily enjoy metal. I really love the Jesus Christ Superstar soundtrack too. Many find me strange for that, but it's so wonderful! I just happen to respect a good musical, haha. The majority of my music tastes come from the 80's, and yes I know that sounds lame considering the worlds current fascination with the decade. But I can honestly say that New Wave is the greatest music to grace the Earth. Even the non New Wave stuff was classic. I love Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Simply Red, The Jesus and Mary Chain, A Flock of Seagulls, A-Ha, Talk Talk, The Psychadelic Furs, Tears for Fears, Spandau Ballet, New Order, New Kids on the Block, The Pixies, Michael Jackson, Joy Division, INXS, Prince, The Cure (although they can be classified as 70's,) The Cars, The Smiths, Guns and Roses, and yes I even enjoy some of those 80's hair bands. Much of the music of the 80's consisted of one hit wonders, which I love the majority of, but I am not going to even try to name all of those. 90's just produced probably the worst music of the century. I hate grunge and I don't believe that Nirvana had any other affect on music except for making me hate it for a while. Some stuff in the 90's was good but a lot of what I liked was just 80's bands that moved into the 90's. Some stuff these days is good as well... though not much. I like the Chili Peppers, Beck, Radiohead, No Doubt, Bright Eyes, Rammstein, NIN, Jane's Addiction, Marilyn Manson, Stabbing Westward, The Faint, Ash, Elliot Smith, Modest Mouse, Garbage, Mariah Carey, Smashing Pumpkins, and Enya. I enjoy a lot of Jazz as well and older singers like Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra (ah hell, the whole Rat Pack,) Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong. I really enjoy listening to the blues, and a lot of stuff from the early 1900s. Don't ask me why but for some reason I like Woody Guthrie. I listen to a lot of scottish music as well. I love the bagpipes. I really enjoy classical music too. I think my favorite type of music is holiday music, for whatever holiday. Anything that just fits the mood of the season. Halloween and Christmas mostly. The music of today just doesn't really cut it for me. Some bands from the 90's are all right these days. I still like Becks stuff, and even Radiohead. I hate that the majority of music today is just milked from previous decades, especially the 80's. But I do like that some bands have began to use the synth, and use it well. That is one 80's comeback that I can enjoy. I do like the Killers, the Bravery, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, Maximo Park, The Stills, The Lashes, People in Planes, The Divorce, Coldplay (old), Snow Patrol, The Films, and Hawksley Workman, whom my sister exposed me to. But I don't know that many people who even know who he is. I actually have a newfound liking for the Presidents of the USA thanks to Heather. Well I am sure I shall add to this one day when I have more time, much to the dismay of the poor souls who read all of what people say.
Oh goodness, I love everything about movies. How can anyone just make a small list of films that they enjoy? My favorite movie for the majority of my life has been A Life Less Ordinary. It's a strange film that is actually sort of cheap and ridiculous. But I enjoy it like no other movie. I am also a huge fan of Star Wars, though not quite as extreme as I used to be (and it was extreme.) I'm Italian so I worship the Godfather, and a few other mobster films(Casino!) I have been watching Johnny Depp films almost since birth (he is my fave actor!) and I love most of his movies, some of which are Benny and Joon, Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands, From Hell, Sleepy Hollow, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and yes, Pirates of the Carribean. I also love many John Cusack movies like Better off Dead, Say Anything, Grosse Pointe Blank, High Fidelity, the Sure Thing, and so on. Some really good movies came out of the 80's. I like those Brat Pack films I must say, and Some Kind of Wonderful as well. I also really love the movie Zack and Reba. I am so in love with Sean Patrick Flanery. I love Excalibur, Highlander, the 13th Warrior, and many other movies that involve sword fighting. I love the movies Underworld, The Princess Bride, A Clockwork Orange, I Heart Huckabees, A Hard Days Night, Help!, The Frighteners, Little Buddha, Jesus of Nazareth, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Dream a Little Dream, Good Will Hunting, Lost Boys, Vanilla Sky, Zoolander, Hush Hush Sweet Charolette, Watcher in the Woods, Dirty Work, Stigmata, Dogma, Clerks, Mallrats, Cannibal! the Musical, Baseketball, Orgazmo, Desperado, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, From Dusk Til Dawn, Bonnie and Clyde, Harvey, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Grease, A Roman Holiday, Charade, It Happened One Night, Heartbreakers, Music from another Room, Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, Three Muskateers, Shawn of the Dead (Sad, I know), Trainspotting, The X-Files, Can't Hardly Wait, The Neverending Story, Mortal Kombat, Clueless, Anastasia (though inaccurate), Garden State, Fight Club, This is Spinal Tap, Airplane, Sleepless in Seattle, Love Actually, The 'Burbs, High Strung, Encino Man, Seven, Powder, Boondock Saints, While you Were Sleeping, Suicide Kings, 200 Cigarettes, Bridget Jones's Diary, The Notebook, Back to the Future 1/2/3, James Bond, Die Hard 1/2/3, Lost Highway, The War, North, Stay, Noel, the Royal Tenenbaums, Road to Perdition, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Nosferatu, and the Batman movies, except for Batman and Robin. I guess I like the Lord of the Rings movies (at least the first 2.) Indiana Jones is a good series. I am a sucker for Win a Date with Tad Hamilton though. I don't know where that one came from. I do like a few romances, but I am not really into chick flicks. Sometimes you do need a movie that just doesn't make you think. I like mysteries, even though I haven't seen a good one in a long time. I don't care for horror movies because they aren't usually all that interesting. I love old classic black and white films. I also love older actors like Clark Gable, Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, and I am in love with Charlie Chaplin. I do enjoy silent films very much. Obviously I can't name every damn movie that strikes my fancy but it looks like I am sure trying.
Which John Cusack Are You?
I really mostly just watch reruns. I love shows like Three's Company, The Fresh Prince, The X-Files, Seinfeld, Sex and the City, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, Saved by the Bell, Beverly Hills 90210, Black Books, Boy Meets World, Entourage, and Roswell. I don't really like TV all that much. The only new shows that I watch are shows that I watch with my mom usually. We watch some of those shows like Law and Order (SVU too,) Cold Case, Without a Trace, or Medium. I do watch SNL, Conan O'Brien, and Chappelle's Show. I really only watch TV out of boredom or if I know one the above shows are on. I also watch a little bit of the History Channel and the Discovery Channel. I do watch old videos of shows we watched as kids. I still watch Ninja Turtles, Jem, Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, Thundercats, X-Men, and all of those wonderful cartoons. Kids these days are deprived of these fantastic shows, and only get to see the cheap remakes that hold nothing of the value the originals had. It's a real shame. Being a kid in the 80's and early 90's was awesome for cartoons. I know it sounds like I watch a lot of TV but I really don't.
One of my favorite books has always been the Neverending Story. That movie did no justice to that literary masterpiece. I recently finished My Autobiography by Charlie Chaplin. I cannot stress enough how much I love him. I also liked the Quest for the Holy Grail and The Once and Future King. I'm am interested in any somewhat realistic books on King Arthur. I read a lot of Mythology and folklore as well as poetry. I always very much liked the poetry of Keats. I used to be really into Star Wars as a kid, so I have read MANY Star Wars books, but I still maintain that they were well written, interesting books. That's my story and I'm sticking to it... I also really liked the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (The Hobbit too), but I don't know many people who have read them all and disliked them. I have always been a fast reader, and used to blow through 400 page books in no time at all. I have slowed down now with school and other social engagements, so it's a little hard to find the time these days. But I do try because I truely love to read.
Careerwise I admire Kevyn Aucoin, one of the best make-up artists in the world. Also Dick Smith, one of the most famous of his kind. You can't study make up and not admire those 2 guys. I also admire historical figures such as King Arthur, because he is the man. Also David Lynch just for having his daily weather report. Edgar Cayce could be considered a hero of mine. My family tries to follow his teachings in how we live life, and I admire him so much. One of my biggest "heroes" is Charlie Chaplin. I seriously am in love with him!ALSO I JUST LOVE MY FRIENDS!
