Depuis 1996, le Quartet de jazz Isotop offre un univers cosmopolite où l'énergie de l'improvisation instrumentale se mélange aux influences de la World music (flamenco, brésilien, oriental, celtique...), et aux samples électro, comme dans la jungle, le trip-hop, le ragga-dub ou le hip-hop.
Comme un caméléon survitaminé, Isotop prend le meilleur des musiques actuelles pour le transformer en une alchimie festive et originale, accessible à tous publics.
Chaque concert est un événement unique où l'échange entre les musiciens, les machines et les auditeurs est sans cesse renouvelé.

____________________________________________________________ __The quartet Isotop was formed in 1996, by Jazz students from the Conservatoire in Nice, France, where they acquired a solid theoretical and practical training and were soon recognised for their creativity.The group’s style was initially Jazz-rock and has evolved since. Elements of electro music (samples, vocals, sound effects on acoustic instruments) as well as elements of world music (flamenco, Brazilian, oriental, dub ragga, drum and bass, Celtic, hip hop and house music) were added to pure jazz improvisation (gained from their musical training and experience playing live). As chameleons can change their colour depending on their environment, Isotop takes the best of modern music and makes it their own. This particular blend of music gives them their own unique and undeniably recognisable sound. They do not simply fit into the conventional « electro-jazz » mould, they invent a new style; ELECTRO FUSION.Isotop’s last album was released nationwide on the label « Nocturne ». It is the first volume in a manifesto for a new musical style : Electro fusion, which mixes electronic, Jazz and World music. Their compositions blend groove, melody and improvisation in all their guises and aim to break down the barriers between musical genres. It takes you on a journey to new places … Both jazz lovers and fans of electro will be impressed by and enjoy this album.Isotop’s style is a remarkable fusion of different musical trends, always remaining faithful to Jazz. Every concert is a unique event where the relationship and exchange between the musicians, machines and the public is in constant evolution.
